Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard Protein Product Description

The Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard Protein is a protein supplement, let me explain more.  It is not a meal replacement.  Do not try and replace your meals with this product or you will not get all the nutrients you need.  It is designed to supplement a workout and food routine to help you reach your fitness goals.  You take this protein supplement in addition to eating healthy, taking multivitamins, and working out.

Pro’s

  • Optimum protein per serving
  • Minimal fat
  • Low Carbohydrate
  • Different flavors
  • 10 lb bulk size available!

Con’s

  • Articficial flavoring (Acesulfame Potassium / Ace K)

The 100% Whey Gold Standard Protein contains an optimum amount of protein (23g).  Some protein supplements you find will use the grams of protein as a selling point; 50G OF PROTEIN!!!.  Well, the problem is you can’t digest that much protein at once so half of it is going to waste.

Some studies will even tell you that you can’t digest the 23g of protein, with a maximum of about 18.  But, everyone’s body is different so they are covering a wider range with the 23g and I like the idea that they are covering a wide range of people while not going overboard and wasting 20 grams.  I guess I would rather waste a little than miss out on some opportunity.

Another benefit to Optimum Nutrition’s 100% Whey Protein supplement is that it has minimal fat and minimal carbohydrates in the blend.  It is a protein supplement and that is what it is designed to do.  Some other “athlete blends” will have just as much carbohydrates as protein in the blend and you end up getting 400+ calories per serving.

They are two completely different types of supplements and have different uses; do not confuse them.  If you are an extreme athlete burning tons of calories, looking to gain mass for sports, or if you are looking for a meal replacement shake, then look at protein supplements with more carbohydrates and fat; most of us are not looking for weight gain.

The 100% Whey Gold Standard protein is available in several different flavors and sizes.

Who should purchase Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard Protein?

If you’re looking to lose weight, gain muscle, and add some more protein to your diet then the 100% whey gold standard is a good supplement for you.  I say lose weight, because this protein supplement has a lower calorie content compared to to more performance based supplements that have loads of carbs and fats included.  Optimimum nutritions whey gold standard protein is for the average person working out who already drinks or eats other unnatural sweeteners like aspartame in diet soda.

  1. Econmoeis are in dire straits, but I can count on this!

    • diet should look like this prteoin / fruit or veg / starchy carb(potatoes, rice, bread, etc.) 3x daily 2 snax- prteoin / fruit or veg in between meals Also if u have the money to use four scoops of prteoin daily great, but since this particular product contains creatine be careful because it may contain a full dose of creatine per scoop. Instead i would find a decent pre workout product without creatine and use it before and the prteoin after. Let me know if this helps. Thanks bro
